Suitcase trade between Iran and CIS increases 5.68 per cent

The suitcase trade between Iran and the Commonwealth of Independent States(CIS) has increased by 5.68 per cent during the first three months of the current solar year (started on March 21) compared to same period in the previous solar year, the website of the Islamic republic of Iran customs administrations(IRICA) reported.

According to the report, during the first three months of the current solar year, Iran exported goods worth 15.324 million euros ($19.938 million) in the suitcase trade through Iran's border customs to CIS countries which shares 0.28 per cent of the total export value of the country. During the same period of the last solar year, the same trade was worth 14.624 million euros ($18.867 million which was 0.26 per cent of the total export value of the country in that period.

During the first three months of the current solar year, exports of the same product through Astara, Incheh-Borun and Sero customs decreased by 62.75, 34.06 and 4.2 per cent respectively compared to same period in the last solar year.

Iran's total non-oil exports including gas condensate and petrochemical products during the first quarter (March 20-May20) reached $9.751 billion, while imports reached $9.395 billion during that period.
