The Research Center for High Technology under the Azerbaijani Ministry of Communications and High Technologies increases personnel potential for the development of chip production technologies, the research center told Trend.
The chip production equipment has been partially delivered to Azerbaijan. The issue of purchasing another batch of equipment amounting to 6 million AZN is being considered.
The chip production technology sphere is a closed area. Many world scientific centers are reluctant to share their achievements. Therefore, the Azerbaijani scholars' main task is to work out own chip production technology, the research center said.
The chips, planned to be produced in the country, can be used in computer technology, telephones, LED and laser light sources, micro- and nano-electronics devices, biological facilities, the defense industry, banking cards.
The local producers will face no need of buying the chips outside the country in the future.
Azerbaijan's advanced technologies will contribute to the emergence of competitive products in the future. This will contribute to the economic development of the country, the research center said.
