The objections of Expediency Discernment Council to Anti-Money Laundering/Combating the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) bills still remain, Abbasali Kadkhodaei, spokesman of the Guardian Council said at a press conference.
“Our assumption was that the CFT bill is unreformable and, so it would be contrary to national interests, but if the shortcomings are removed, the problem will be solved,” he added.
Responding to delay in the Guardian Council decision on CFT, the official said that the Guardian Council had sent its judgment to Parliament within legal duration. “But the Supreme Supervisory Board did not send its comments to us, therefore, we were waiting for the Expediency Discernment Council’s comment "
