The statistics of Iran's Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade indicates the improvement in production of domestic home appliances in the country.
The figures show domestic production of 57,300 refrigerators, 84,600 refrigerator-freezers, around 46,400 washing machines and 21,900 evaporative coolers in Iran from the start of Iranian New Year (starts March 21, 2018), Trend reports citing IRNA.
The production of TV sets has increased by 18.2 percent in October, while the refrigerator production grew 31.5 percent. The production of washing machines has increased by 29.1 percent and evaporative cooler 0 by 5.6 percent.
Compared to the same period of the previous year, in the current year up until September, the production of home appliances in Iran has decreased. For instance, the production of television sets has dropped by 32.5 percent, to 394,200 sets.
Same goes for production of refrigerators and freezers (down by 13.8 percent), washing machines (down by 38.2 percent), and evaporative coolers (down by 5.9 percent).
Iran has banned the import of home appliances due to foreign currency rate fluctuation and the implemented US sanctions.
