Canada is interested in expanding investment cooperation with Uzbekistan, Trend reports citing the press service of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
Furthermore, Canada will allocate $185,000 to Uzbekistan to fight against coronavirus, the ministry said.
The decision to allocate the funds was announced during a telephone conversation between Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov and Canadian Foreign Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne on June 4, 2020.
The heads of foreign ministries also discussed issues related to strengthening of trade-economic and investment bilateral cooperation.
"The Canadian business is interested in entering the Uzbek market and in implementation of high-tech investment projects in renewable energy, industry and agriculture sector of the country," the report said.
According to the ministry, the sides also agreed to expand cooperation within the UN and its specialized institutions.
