Azerbaijan to receive more than $11.4 billion from BP projects

According to BP forecasts, Azerbaijan will receive $11.4 billion from BP-operated projects this year, BP Azerbaijan President Rashid Javanshir said today.

However, he added that Azerbaijan's revenues will be higher as oil prices are higher than $60 per barrel on world markets.

The country received more than $11.7 billion from BP projects last year.

BP's costs under contracts and orders in Azerbaijan reached $754 million in January-September.

The expenditures of small- and medium-sized enterprises (a total of 212) reached $110 million in January-September this year. The expenses of state-owned companies (41) hit $20 million, and the expenditures of joint ventures with local partners (20) reached $260 million. The expenditures of foreign contractors in the country last year amounted to $364 million.

Some 3.54 million were spent on social responsibility projects. In particular, costs amounted to $0.79 million within the offshore Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli project, $0.39 million at Shah Deniz, and $1.74 million under the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Baku-Tbilisi- Erzurum pipelines. BP spent $0.62 million on its own social responsibility projects.
