'Rompetrol Group' has introduced a number of projects for improvement of its transport and logistic infrastructure, the company reported to Trend on Tuesday.
"The company has completed construction of terminal for supply of oil in Black sea, has reached triple increase in transition capacity of oil products through ninth berth of Midia port and completed construction of terminal on import-export operations on liquid hydrocarbon gas," the company stated.
The senior vice president of Rompetrol group Azamat Jangulov reported in his inclusive interview to Trend, that the terminal on oil supply in Black sea is currently operating below its capacities.
"We are currently supplying the volume needed for processing at our 'Petromidia' refinery, which is 5 million tons, through our terminal in Black sea. Pumping speed of the pipe is the amount of transported oil, although capacity of the pipe itself is 24 million tons," Jangulov added.
However, in his words, this doesn't mean an ineffective use of new terminal's capacity.
"The volumes of Kazakh oil are transported to the plant, capacity of which has increased from 3.8 million tons to 5 million tons of Kazakh oil. But if we have other partners, and if Romanian government will be interested in using our terminal, we have respective base and capacity," he noted.
Jangulov said the terminal in Black sea was constructed with joining of 'KazMunaiGas' oil company to Rompetrol 3 years ago.
"Possibilities of using our terminal in Black sea for transportation of oil for Constanta Trieste pipeline, which has been discussed previously. The pipeline could enable oil transportation bypassing Bosporus and Dardanelles. Moreover, the terminal capacity enables further development of pipeline project," Azamat Jangulov added.
In his words, the company's oil terminal is designed for accumulating of small amounts and transportation to large tankers.
The senior vice president of the company noted that the terminal receives tankers with capacity of 80 thousands as well as 140 thousands.
In his words, before construction of the terminal Rompetrol received oil at 'Petromidia' refinery through terminals in Constanta port.
"Since the launch of our own terminal in Black sea, we could reduce and optimate expenses on logistics. Thus, the savings amounted to $70 million, as we have transported 20 million tons of oil and saved $7 for each ton," Jangulov stated.
100 percent of Rompetrol Group N.V (TRG) company's shares are owned by 'KazMunaiGas' Kazakh state oil company.
