During the 10 months of the current year (starting from March 21, 2018), Iranian non-petroleum export value reached $36.3 billion, Trend reports referring to the information portal of the Iranian Customs Administration.
Iran's non-petroleum exports totaled 94.8 million tons in the first 10 months, up 2.21 percent over the same period last year.
On the other hand, 26 million tons of products worth $35.672 billion were imported to Iran during this period. Accordingly, the surplus of Iran's foreign trade amounted to $678 million. Imports dropped by 17.37 percent in terms of weight and 18.78 percent in terms of US dollar value over the same period last year.
Gas condensate at $3.53 billion (8.40 percent value share) and liquefied natural gas at $1.815 billion (4.99 percent value share) were the main Iranian exports, along with liquefied propane at $1.484 billion (4.8 percent value share), methanol at $1.229 billion (3.38 percent value share), and other oils and products (excluding gasoline) at $1.223 billion (3.36 percent value share).
During this period, 33.92 percent of all Iranian exports accounted for petrochemical products, with 8.40 percent for gas condensate and 57.68 percent for other products, with $1.618 billion worth of animal feed - corn (4.54 percent value share), $1.266 billion worth of backhoe parts (excluding tires) for domestically manufactured cars with a capacity of 2000CC cylinders (3.55 percent value share), $1.102 billion worth of rice (3.9 percent value share), $975 million worth of soybean (2.73 percent value share), and $ 493 million of soybean presscake (1.38 percent value share).
From March 21, 2018, Iran has mainly exported its products to five countries.
During the said period, $7.524 billion (20.70 percent value share) worth of products were exported to China, with $7.515 billion (20.67 percent value share) worth being exported to Iraq, $5.313 billion (14.62 percent value share) to United Arab Emirates, $2.533 billion (6.97 percent value share) to Afghanistan, and $2.26 billion (5.57 percent value share) to Turkey.
In particular, Iran's exports to China and Iraq went up by 5.24 and 44.75 percent over the same period last year, respectively.
During the 10-month period, Iran has imported $8.905 billion (24.96 percent value share) worth of products from China, $5.456 billion (15.29 percent value share) worth from the United Arab Emirates, $2.38 billion (5.71 percent value share) worth from Turkey, $2.18 billion (5.66 percent value share) worth from Germany, and $1.927 billion (5.40 percent value share) worth from India.
