A 307-megawatt gas unit (F-Class Gas Turbine Power Plants) of the Andimeshk Thermal Power Plant in the Khuzestan Province (southwestern Iran) will be launched next Iranian year (March 21, 2021 to March 21, 2022), said Mohsen Tarztalab, Managing Director of Iran’s Thermal Power Plants Holding Company, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Energy of Iran.
According to Tarztalab, the TPP has one gas and one steam units and can generate a total of 451 megawatt hours of electricity.
"The steam unit of the thermal power plant will be put into operation after 2 years (from March 21, 2022 to March 21, 2023)," he added.
The director emphasized that the Andimeshk Thermal Power Plant is the second largest high-efficiency power plant in Iran, which is being built at the expense of state investments.
Tarztalab noted that about 200 million euro had been invested on the construction of the station, so far.
The director said that the main purposes for the construction of the TPP to meet the needs of the electricity network, improve the region's sustainable electricity supply, increase the efficiency of thermal power plants, save fuel consumption, reduce environmental pollution, and use domestic equipment.
