Over 2.5 million tons of oil were transported from Azerbaijan via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline in January 2021, which is 6 percent less compared to Jan. 2020, Trend reported this week citing a report of the State Statistical Committee.
Some 79.4 percent of all oil transported through the country's main pipelines during the mentioned month accounted for the BTC pipeline.
Besides, according to the committee’s report published this week, Azerbaijan exported over 1.6 billion cubic meters of gas via the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline in January 2021, which is by 50 percent more than in the same month of 2020.
According to the report, 45.3 percent of all gas transported by Azerbaijan in the reporting month accounted for Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum. Over the year this indicator grew by 11.4 percentage points.
Meanwhile, 3.54 billion cubic meters of gas were transported through the main pipelines of Azerbaijan in January 2021, which is by 11.9 percent more than in January 2020.
Along with the above, the volume of gas produced in Azerbaijan amounted to more than 3.51 billion cubic meters in January 2021, including 2.6 billion cubic meters of commercial gas. On an annualized basis, these indicators grew by 0.6 percent and 7.9 percent, respectively.
During the mentioned month, oil and gas condensate was produced by nearly 3.08 million tons, which is 3.9 percent less than in 2020, said the report. As of February 1, 2021, the stock of finished oil products amounted to 471,600 tons.
Besides this week it was reported that the total value of production of petroleum products in Azerbaijan amounted to 268.5 million manat ($157.9 million) in January 2021, which is 20.4 percent less compared to the same month of 2020.
This week Maersk Drilling, a drilling-rig operator based in Denmark, stated that its revenues from the operations in Azerbaijan stood at over $1.09 billion in 2020, compared to $1.2 billion in 2019.
Another highlight of the outgoing week was statement of GEA Refrigeration Technologies (GEA) about its plans to supply GEA model XH compression packages for a tail gas application at the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery (HAOR) in Baku.
Hungarian MOL Group’s net entitlement production from Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) block of oil and gas fields in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea was 25,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day in Q4 2020. The group produced 17,800 barrels of oil per day from Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) block of oil and gas fields in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea in FY 2020, while its capital expenditure on development of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli block stood at $117.2 million.
This week, information on the export of oil and gas from Azerbaijan was also released. In January 2021, the country exported over 1.12 billion cubic meters of natural gas and over 4 million tons of oil, which is 0.7 percent more than in January 2021.
