BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 16. Electricity production from green energy sources increased by 1.7 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) in 2024 compared to 2023, totaling 3.851 billion kWh.
Data obtained by Trend from the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan shows that last year, electricity production from thermal power plants (TPP) amounted to 24.543 billion kWh, from hydropower plants (HPP) exceeded three billion kWh, and from other sources, it reached 839.9 million kWh.
During this period, wind power plants produced 51.1 million kWh, solar power plants generated 556.3 million kWh, and the waste-to-energy plant produced 232.5 million kWh of electricity.
