The network infrastructure of the primary provider - Delta Telecom Company has been involved in connecting telecommunication infrastructure of Russian and Iranian operators, technical director of Delta Telecom Rahid Alakbarli told Trend .
Traffic transit through Delta Telecom infrastructure is realized within an agreement on bilateral services on lease of international digital channels between Russian communication operator Rostelekom and Iranian Telecommunication Infrastructure Company (TIC) signed in late 2009.
Alakbalri said over 10 percent (1.25 Gbps) of channel's capacity has been involved in traffic transit. In general, Delta Telecom Company's infrastructure allows expanding capacity up to 10 Gbps.
Communication channels which Rostelecom and TIC provide each other within the concluded contract, is used for the mutual exchange of telephone traffic and data transit through the operators' network.
