The Sumgait Technologies Park (STP) launched LAN-cable production, STP told Trend Nov. 22.
STP said that currently, around 50 types of cables are produced on the STP basis and the products fully cover the domestic needs.
"Despite the raw materials for the cable production are purchased outside of the country, the final products in quality fully comply with the world standards," STP said.
STP said that as the products are manufactured in Azerbaijan, local products are more competitive in terms of production costs and the final price.
New types of STP cables will be showcased as part of BakuTel-2016, the 22nd Azerbaijan International Exhibition and Conference (November 29-December 2, 2016).
Currently, the optic fiber is also produced on the STP basis. The annual production capacity of those types of cables is 100,000 kilometers, but in case of necessity, the capacity can be increased.
