BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 19. The number of tourists from Azerbaijan from January through February 2022 has tripled, compared to the same period in 2021 and amounted to 184,200 people, Trend reports citing the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan.
According to report, 40.5 percent of the total number of Azerbaijani tourists visited Turkey, 24.9 percent - Russia, 11.7 percent - Iran, 7.8 percent - Georgia, 15.1 percent - other countries.
Some 68.3 percent of the total number of Azerbaijani tourists were men, 31.7 percent were women from January through February 2022.
The number of tourists from Azerbaijan to Russia increased 4.3 times over the year, to Iran - 4.3 times, to Turkey - 2.6 times, to Georgia - 2.3 times.
A total of 150,400 foreigners and people without citizenship from 138 countries visited Azerbaijan from January through February 2022.
