Kazakhstan, Almaty, 30 September / Trend corr. R.Mashadihasanli / The Almaty City Day is marked on the first Sunday of October annually. It has become a traditional holiday for Almaty residents and inalienable part of cultural and public life of the city. The City Day will be celebrated under the slogan of "We are Almaty Residents!".
The Almaty City Administration informed Trend correspondent on schedule of measures, dedicated to celebration of the City Day. Charitable holiday lunches, concerts will be held for socially unprotected people within the whole month, the City Administration said. A football tournament will take place on this occasion, as well. Naturally, major measures will be held t the Astana square on 5 October. The holiday program includes performances of creative children groups, parade of winners of competition, as well as brass band festival from Astana, Almaty, Tashkent and Yekaterinburg. Actors of the Kazakh State Circus are expected to perform in the evening on 5 October. The city beauty competition and a concert with the Kazakh star singers will take place in the evening, as well. The Holiday fireworks will be held at the Astana square and on the shore of the Sayran lake.
