ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 18. The volume of trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan amounted to $209.5 million from January through May 2024, Trend reports.
Data from the country's Bureau of National Statistics shows that the volume of trade turnover increased by 15.6 percent compared to the same period in 2023 ($181.2 million).
At the same time, exports to Turkmenistan for the above period amounted to $115 million, which is 18.6 percent less than the first five months of 2023 ($141.4 million).
In addition, imports from Turkmenistan from January through May 2024 increased by 137 percent and amounted to $94.4 million. From January through May 2023, imports amounted to $39.7 million.
Meanwhile, the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan for the whole of last year amounted to $563.06 million, which is 28 percent more than in the same period of 2022, when it amounted to $438.69 million.
