BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 18. Trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan amounted to $173,400 from January through March 2023, Trend reports citing the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.

According to the statistics, the figure decreased by 81 percent compared to $943,200 in 1Q2022.

During the specified period, the exports from Kyrgyzstan to Tajikistan made up only $10,700, which is a considerable decrease of 98.3 percent compared to $662,000 in 1Q2022.

Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan’s imports from Tajikistan totaled $162,700, decreasing by 42 percent over $281,000 in 1Q2022.

In the period under review, Kyrgyzstan exported to Tajikistan mainly various types of fuel and oil products, while Tajikistan exported to Kyrgyzstan aluminum and various products thereof, citrus fruits and various seedlings.

Overall, Kyrgyzstan’s trade turnover amounted to $2.7 billion from January through March 2023, which is 25.4 percent more than in the same period of 2022 ($2.1 billion).

Exports exceeded $434.7 million, increasing by 15 percent compared to 1Q2022 ($376 million). While imports reached $2.2 billion, which is a 27-percent increase over $1.7 billion in the same months of 2022).
