BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, April 6. Kyrgyzstan exported 1,204 tons of oil products to Uzbekistan in January 2024, which is an 83.3 percent decrease compared to the same period in 2023 (7,224 tons), Trend reports.
The export value for January 2024 was $376,200, which is 81.7 percent lower than January 2023's value of $2.057 million, according to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
In January of this year, the majority of Kyrgyzstan's petroleum products were exported to Türkiye - 10,058 tons for $6.148 million. Uzbekistan was second, and China ranked third with 968 tons worth $979,100.
Overall, Kyrgyzstan exported 14,677 tons of oil products in January 2024, which is a 34.5-percent increase compared to the 10,914 tons exported in the corresponding month of 2023. The total value of exports amounted to $10.280 million, which is a 58.5 percent increase compared to January 2023 ($6.487 million).
Kyrgyzstan's trade with Uzbekistan totaled $43.764 million in January 2024, which is a 39-percent rise compared to the same month in 2023, where trade amounted to $31.475 million.
Exports to Uzbekistan amounted to $16.970 million in January 2024, an increase of 32.9 percent from the $12.768 million recorded in January 2023.
Conversely, imports from Uzbekistan reached $26.793 million in January 2024, which is an increase of 43.2 percent compared to $18.707 million in January 2023.
