BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, December 12. Kyrgyzstan imported 112,985 passenger cars from January through October 2024, which is 12.5 percent less than 129,031 cars in the same months of 2023, Trend reports.
According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the value of the imports totaled $1.487 billion, declining by 24.8 percent over $1.977 billion in January-October 2023.
The largest number of cars imported came from China, totaling 54,529 vehicles valued at $785.5 million. South Korea secured second place with 32,666 vehicles worth 221.078 million, followed by the US in third with 5,673 cars valued at $92.332 million.
A large number of cars were also imported from Georgia - 4,745 cars, 4,086 cars from Russia, 3,108 cars from Japan, 2,462 cars from Germany, and 1,791 cars from the UAE.
Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover reached $13.4 billion from January through October 2024, which is a 6.4 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023.
Exports rose by 25.2 percent year-on-year to $3.123 billion, while imports increased by 1.8 percent to $10.310 billion.
