DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, April 5. Tajikistan and Turkmenistan are set to develop a unified pricing policy in the field of transport and logistics, Trend reports.
As per the Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan, this agreement was reached between Tajikistan's Minister of Transport, Azim Ibrohim, and the General Director of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers, Mammethan Chakyev.
The sides have agreed to foster close and mutually beneficial cooperation between the logistic centers of the two countries, adopt a unified approach to pricing, and implement optimal tariffs for international cargo delivery services to facilitate carriers.
The heads of transportation departments met in Dushanbe on April 4, following high-level official meetings and negotiations during the official visit of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the former President of Turkmenistan and current Chairman of the People's Council.
President Rahmon and Berdimuhamedov discussed the development and expansion of ties in promising economic sectors, including transportation and freight carriage.
Particular attention was given to prospects for expanding transit transportation of Tajik goods through Turkmenistan and establishing a transport corridor that would connect the two countries with access to the Caspian Sea.
