German KfW's grant to raise hospital in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, July 3. The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan, along with the German Development Bank (KfW), has signed a grant agreement for the construction of a hospital, Trend reports.

According to the Tajik ministry, the KfW grant amounts to 11 million euros for the construction of a new tuberculosis hospital in Kulob city, Khatlon region.

Signing the agreement were Zavqi Zavqizoda, Minister of Economic Development and Trade, and Andreas Schneider, Head of the KfW Regional Office for Central Asia.

The current grant agreement between Tajikistan and the German Development Bank (KfW) for building the hospital is additional funding under an existing framework of financial cooperation between the countries for 2017–2019.

The KfW Development Bank supports programs in developing and emerging economies and has been operational in Tajikistan since 2001. On behalf of the federal government, it contributes to Tajikistan's economic development.
