Assets of credit financial organizations in Tajikistan increase

DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, July 23. The total assets of credit financial organizations in Tajikistan amounted to 41.188 billion somoni ($394.192 million) as of June 30, 2024, Trend reports.

According to the National Bank of Tajikistan, this figure increased by 7.650 billion somoni ($720.051 million), or 22.8 percent, compared to the same period in 2023.

The total credit portfolio balance of these organizations reached 19.374 billion somoni ($1.823 billion) during the reporting period, which is an increase of 3.229 billion somoni ($303.927 million), or 20 percent, compared to the same period in the previous year.

The growth was mainly driven by an increase in loans provided to individuals as well as small and medium-sized enterprises.

As of June 30, 2024, there are 63 credit financial organizations operating in Tajikistan. This includes 14 traditional banks, 1 Islamic bank, 1 non-bank credit organization, 19 microcredit deposit organizations, 3 microcredit organizations, and 25 microcredit funds.

On the reporting date, the number of structural divisions of these credit financial organizations increased by 18 units compared to the same period in 2023, totaling 1,899.
