DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, February 7. Tajikistan imported 450,800 tons of gasoline valued at $336 million in 2024, according to Safarali Kurbonzoda, the First Deputy Head of the Antimonopoly Service, who spoke at a press conference, Trend reports.
Of this total, 45.8 percent of the gasoline imports came from Gazprom Neft - Tajikistan.
Additionally, Tajikistan imported 502,400 tons of diesel fuel worth $391.3 million, with 45.3 percent of this amount supplied by Gazprom Neft.
On January 10, 2025, the US tightened sanctions against Gazprom Neft, adding its subsidiaries in Central Asia to the sanctions list. The companies affected include Gazprom Neft Asia LLC and Munai-Mirza JSC in Kyrgyzstan, Gazprom Neft Tajikistan LLC in Tajikistan, and Gazprom Neft Kazakhstan LLP.
In 2024, Tajikistan produced 16,136 tons of oil and 362,400 cubic meters of natural gas. The year also saw an increase in the import of oil products and liquefied gas, with total imports reaching 1.541 million tons, which is a 9.1 percent rise or an additional 128,800 tons compared to 2023.
