Thermal power plant with a capacity of 240 MW in Tashkent region of Uzbekistan began supplying electricity to the country’s single energy system, Trend reports via the Uzbek Ministry of Energy.
This power plant is designed to generate 2 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity per year.
Turkish Aksa Enerji company took part in the project, estimated at $150 million in particular with financing of construction of the plant.
The project will save 290 million cubic meters of natural gas per year via energy-efficient equipment.
The saved natural gas will generate an additional 1 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity.
Previously, thermal power plant with a capacity of 270 MW in Bukhara region of Uzbekistan began supplying electricity to the country’s single energy system.
