BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 19. The value of petrochemical products traded on Iranian mercantile exchanges in the 4th month of the current Iranian year (from June 21 through July 21, 2024) increased by 58 percent compared to the same month of last year (June 22 through July 22, 2023), Trend reports via National Company of Petrochemical Industries of Iran.
A total of 95 trillion rials (about $234 million) worth of petrochemical products were put up for sale on Iranian mercantile exchanges for the fourth month.
However, in the same period last year, the value of petrochemical products sold on the mercantile exchanges amounted to 60 trillion rials (about $147 million).
About 37 percent (about $38.9 million) of the products released for sale in the fourth month were sold on Iranian mercantile exchange.
Iran's National Petrochemical Industries Company seeks to boost sales of the country's petrochemical products by encouraging petrochemical companies to sell their products on mercantile exchanges.
To note, petrochemical products in Iran are mainly sold on the Energy Exchange and the Mercantile Exchange.
