BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 14. Iranian petrochemical enterprises have allocated $4 billion in recent years to optimize sustainability and mitigate carbon emissions in the ecosystem, Chairman of the Energy Committee of Iran's Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture Arash Najafi said, Trend reports.
He made the announcement at the 3rd International Conference on Energy Efficiency and Consumption Optimization in Tehran.
According to him, enhanced focus is essential on these scenarios and the domain of energy consumption enhancement.
Najafi added that if energy optimization isn't kept on a tight leash, the country will be in hot water with a host of problems knocking at its door. Boosting efficiency and fine-tuning energy use are at the top of the to-do list for every sector in the country.
“Optimization should be done on the whole infrastructure of the nation, not only on lowering the use of gas, petrol, and electricity,” he noted.
To note, the two-day international conference and exhibition on energy efficiency and consumption optimization in Tehran started its work on October 14.
