Loading and unloading operations at Iran's Hormozgan Province ports revealed

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 2. A total of 93 million tons of goods, including both oil and non-oil products, were loaded and unloaded at ports of Hormozgan Province, located in southern Iran, during the ten months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024 through January 19, 2025), Director General of İran's Ports and Maritime Administration of Hormozgan Province Hossein Abbasnejad told reporters, Trend reports.

According to Abbasnejad, 63.8 million tons of non-oil products and approximately 29.2 million tons of oil and oil-related products were handled at the province’s ports.

The official further mentioned that during this period, nearly 33.9 million tons of oil and non-oil products were exported through the ports of Hormozgan, with 29 million tons exported through Shahid Rajaee Port.

Abbasnejad added that about 19 million tons of goods were transported for cabotage purposes, with 15.3 million tons passing through Shahid Rajaee Port.

To note, Iran's Hormozgan Province has 118 ports. Of them, 44 ports are multi-purpose, 31 are fishing ports, 13 are commercial ports, 13 are entertainment and recreational ports, 11 are oil ports, 3 are passenger ports, and 3 are industrial ports.
