About 780 trillion Iranian rial ($18.5 billion) taxes were paid in Iran from March 21, 2019, through October 22, 2019, in the current Iranian year, Trend reports referring to Fars news agency.
In the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2019, through March 21, 2020), Iran’s budget law envisaged 1.4 quadrillion rials ($33.3 billion) for tax revenues. In addition, 320 trillion rials ($7.61 billion) were to be provided with customs revenues.
However, according to the decision of the heads of Iran’s three power branches (executive, legislative, judicial), tax revenues this year should amount to only 1.27 quadrillion rials ($30.2 billion), which makes up 61.6 percent of the initial figure.
In seven months, the customs revenues amounted to 79 trillion rials ($1.88 billion). According to the decision, this year the customs revenues shall amount to 160 trillion rials ($3.8 billion), making up 49.7 percent of the original plan.
According to the decision of the heads of Iran's three branches of power to reduce total budget revenues, the budget decreased from 4.48 quadrillion rials ($106 billion) to 3.86 quadrillion rials ($91.9 billion).
