TEHRAN, Iran, March 8
Trend:
Iran has launched 30 port and maritime projects in the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2021), Director-General of public relations of Hormozgan Ports Organization Adham Rezvani told Trend in an interview.
In particular, 10 of those projects worth 2.7 billion rials (about $64 million) were launched in Hormozgan Province, he said.
Rezvani said the restrictions related to COVID-19 will be lifted in the province for the Nowruz holidays to facilitate sea trips.
He noted that it is expected that more than 3 million people would travel to Hormozgan Province during the Nowruz (starting March 21, 2022).
"About 95 percent of the country's maritime travels are in Hormozgan province and the province ports are the most important part of country's shipping," Rezvani said.
