Georgian small and medium-sized businesses receive individual consultations within the framework of the Light Industry Development Project of the Bank of Georgia and USAID Economic Security Program, Trend reports via Georgian media.
For future business development, the program provides companies with a unique opportunity to obtain information from industry experts on issues such as: attracting finance and financial analytics, export planning, local market research, identifying new sales channels, and more.
The program is designed for businesses engaged in the manufacture of building materials, production and design of furniture or toys, carrying out solid waste recycling, manufacture of packaging materials, or personal protective equipment.
At this stage, 19 companies involved in the program have already undergone both export and access to finance trainings.
“We are pleased to be able to work with our partner to support the development of the light industry and support companies in future growth. Under this program, participating companies are given the opportunity to develop business development plans tailored to their needs, both in terms of export development, financial management and investment, as well as local sales growth. We want to wish success to each company selected under the project, and we will continue to support businesses with these and other projects,” Zurab Masurashvili, Head of Small and Medium Business at the Bank of Georgia, said.

Adapted for Sustainable Business Development, this program is one of the initiatives through which USAID's Economic Security Program provides practical assistance to high-skilled businesses in the economy, promoting high-quality employment and economic growth,” Mark McCord, Head of USAID Economic Security Program, said.
