Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Anatoly Rubinov will pay a visit to Hungary on March 30-31. The decision was taken during a meeting between Anatoly Rubinov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Belarus Ferenc Kontra, BelTA informs.

Anatoly Rubinov is going to meet with the Deputy Chairman of the Parliament of Hungary and members of the deputy group on friendship with the Parliament of Belarus.

The Hungarian Ambassador stressed that the programme of Anatoly Rubinov's visit to Budapest would not be spoiled by the recent political events related to the Hungarian Prime Minister's resignation. Ferenc Kontra praised the fact that the Parliaments of Belarus and Hungary set up friendship groups. "It gives our parliamentarians a chance to cooperate at a new qualitative level," he said.

Anatoly Rubinov hopes Belarus and Hungary will intensify cooperation in various spheres. "Our countries are similar in size, have well-developed economies and high technologies, a high level of education," he said. "Unfortunately our relations have been frozen for the recent 15 years. But I hope this period in the past. Belarus will be developing cooperation with Hungary as well as with all EU countries," the Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic added.

According to him, the $350-million trade between Belarus and Hungary in 2008 is not enough for the countries with a big potential of increasing it.
