At least 14 people were killed and 10 others injured in a road accident in southwestern Pakistani province of Balochistan on Monday, local media reported.

According to a report by local Urdu TV Geo News, a passenger bus with over 25 people onboard fell into a trench soon after it left capital city Quetta of Balochistan province for Chaman, a small city located at the north of the provincial capital, Xinhua reported.

Some women and children are among the killed. Local people and rescue workers rushed the injured to the hospital. According to initial reports, most of the injured are in a critical condition.

The road is constructed over a series of valleys which make it prone to road accidents. Poorly constructed roads and violation of traffic rules are also considered as main causes of frequent road accidents in the country.
