BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 28. Over 1.58 million tourists from Germany visited Türkiye from January through May 2023, up by 20.75 percent on annual basis, Trend reports.
According to the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the number of tourists arriving in Türkiye from Germany in May this year grew by 13.72 percent compared to the same period in 2022 and amounted to 617,000 people.
A total of 14.3 million tourists visited Türkiye from January through May 2023, which is 23.65 percent more than in the same period last year.
The number of tourists who visited the country in May 2023 increased by 16.19 percent compared to the same period in 2022 and reached 4.5 million people.
Türkiye was most visited by tourists from Russia (1.7 million), Germany (1.5 million), Bulgaria (1.5 million), the UK (987,267) and Iran (794,177) from January through May 2023.
