The OSCE mission in Georgia may be stopped, if Russia will not change its position towards the mission in Tskhinvali, Georgian State Minister on Reintegration Issues Temur Yakobashvili said to journalists today.
Russia insists upon opening of an independent mission in Tskhinvali and in this case it agrees on continuation of the OSCE mission in Georgia. However, Tbilisi categorically opposes opening of an independent mission in the self-proclaimed republic.
"Georgia wants the OSCE mission to stay in the country, with its interest not to be affected. Fundamental principle on territorial integrity is important for countries," Yakobashvili said.
"Tbilisi will never agree with the mandate that violates its principles. If Russia will continue insisting upon its version, then the OSCE will have to leave Georgia," Yakobashvili added.
