Implementation of economic, trade projects and carrying out a joint activity between the Azerbaijani cities and Ukraine’s Dnepropetrovsk city is important, said Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Ukraine Azer Khudiyev.

The ambassador made the remarks at a meeting with Head of Dnepropetrovsk Regional State Administration Borys Filatov.

Khudiyev said that a favorable investment environment has been created in Azerbaijan and attention is paid to the development of the country’s districts.

Azerbaijan is open for Ukrainian investors, he noted.

The envoy also said that well-known Azerbaijani companies are already investing in economic and trade projects in Ukraine, and are ready to invest in big projects of Dnepropetrovsk.

Borys Filatov, for his part, said that more than 30,000 Azerbaijanis live in Dnepropetrovsk and they actively participate in social, political and economic life of the city.

“Roads of the city will be reconstructed, and if Azerbaijani companies participate in these projects, the city administration will provide all possible assistance,” he noted.

Filatov also invited Azerbaijani companies to participate in the reconstruction of the ancient mosque, built in 1905.

The Azerbaijani ambassador, for his part, said that the proposals put forward will be considered, and the projects’ implementation will be supported.

Moreover, during the meeting, Maksim Kuryachiy, head of the Ukraine-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group, noted the importance of development of the two countries’ trade and economic relations.
