BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 27. Azerbaijan's SOCAR Polymer increased exports of products by 86.4 percent in the first half of 2023 compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.
According to the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications of Azerbaijan, the company's exports amounted to $151.2 million during the reporting period of 2023, which is $70.1 million more than in the same period of 2022.
SOCAR Polymer holds third position in the top-10 in terms of the value of non-oil products exported by state-owned companies.
SOCAR Polymer is one of the largest investors of the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park and produces polypropylene and polyethylene in this park. The products manufactured at the enterprise are currently exported under the Made in Azerbaijan brand to more than 10 countries (China, Poland, Nigeria, Romania, Kazakhstan, Bulgaria, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Belarus, Russia, Ukraine).
The company began exporting polypropylene of the brand to Peru for the first time. At the initial stage, a total of 90 tons of polypropylene were shipped.
