BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 30. A fertilizer production plant will be built in Azerbaijan, Elchin Kazimov, spokesperson for the country's Economic Zones Development Agency (EZDA) under the Ministry of Economy, told Trend.
According to him, a newly registered resident of the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park will invest 10.2 million manat ($6 million) in the park.
The official pointed out that the joint Azerbaijani-Turkish Elba Chem CJSC has received resident status in the park, managed by the EZDA.
"This has brought the number of industrial park residents to 41. The company plans to build a plant within the park to produce potassium sulfate (fertilizer) with an annual capacity of 10,000 tons. The project is expected to generate over 50 jobs. It is anticipated that the products manufactured at the facility will be sold domestically as well as exported," added Kazimov.
