BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 19. Iran’s imports from Kyrgyzstan fell by 36.3 percent in value and 36.4 percent in volume in the first four months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through July 22, 2025), compared to the same period last year (from March 20 through July 21, 2024).
Data obtained by Trend from the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) indicates that the country imported about $827,000 worth of 542 tons of goods from Kyrgyzstan during this period.
Analysis of the data indicates that in the corresponding
timeframe of the previous fiscal year, Iran engaged in the
procurement of approximately 852 tons of commodities from
Kyrgyzstan, with an estimated valuation nearing $1.3 million. Iran
predominantly engages in the procurement of agrarian commodities
and phosphoric acid from Kyrgyzstan.
The cumulative trade throughput between the Islamic Republic of
Iran and the Kyrgyz Republic over the initial quadrimester reached
approximately $29.9 million and 19,800 metric tons, reflecting a
year-on-year contraction of 11.5 percent in monetary terms and a
4.8 percent decrease in volumetric metrics.
The Iranian Customs Administration further indicated that within
the same quadrimester, Iran executed imports amounting to 12.2
million tons of commodities, aggregating a valuation of $17.6
billion. In juxtaposition to the corresponding timeframe from the
previous fiscal year, aggregate import metrics experienced a
contraction of 14.2 percent in monetary valuation and a decline of
3.23 percent in volumetric throughput.
Iran strategically emphasizes the procurement of critical
commodities requisite for national sustenance, concurrently
maintaining regulatory constraints on the influx of domestically
manufactured goods.
