BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 25. Iran has recorded an increase of 12.4 percent in value and 1.7 percent in volume in imports from Kyrgyzstan in the first months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through August 22, 2025), compared to the same period last year (from March 20 through August 21, 2024).
Data obtained by Trend from the Customs Administration (IRICA) indicates that Iran imported $1.5 million worth of goods, totaling 962 tons, from Kyrgyzstan, compared with $1.35 million and 946 tons during the same period last year.
According to the statistics, the imports mainly included agricultural products and phosphoric acid.
The data notes that Iran-Kyrgyzstan trade reached $39 million with a total weight of 25,000 tons, marking a decline of 4.4 percent in value and 9 percent in weight in overall trade compared with the previous year.
IRICA's data also show that the country imported $23 billion worth of non-oil products totaling 15.2 million tons during the same period. The value of non-oil imports decreased by 16.3 percent, while the weight fell by 5.4 percent compared with last year.
Meanwhile, Iran prioritizes importing essential goods and imposes restrictions to limit the entry of products similar to those produced domestically.
