In total, 3.22 million tons of goods worth $1.11 billion were exported through the customs of the Sistan and Baluchestan Province (southeastern Iran) during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2020, through January 20, 2021), Supervisor of Sistan and Baluchestan Province Customs Office Mohammad Ali Khashi said, Trend reports Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).
According to Khashi, cement, tomatoes, vegetables, gas, fruits, and dates were the main exported goods over the reporting period. These products were mainly exported to Pakistan, Afghanistan, Oman, UAE, India, and Iraq.
Khashi added that moreover, 1.16 million tons of goods worth $609 million were imported to Sistan and Baluchestan Province in 10 months.
The official noted that the imported goods were mainly rice, wheat, barley, animal feed, mango, sugar, and others.
“These goods were imported from Russia, Germany, Brazil, Pakistan, India, Australia, and China,” he said.
The official stressed that 45,300 people crossed in and 54,000 people left Iran through the customs of Sistan and Baluchestan province within 10 months. This means that the number of arrivals and departures decreased by 87 percent and 82 percent, respectively, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
