Uzbekneftegaz, the National Holding Company (NHC) of Uzbekistan, and Chinese companies last week signed four agreements of cooperation in the oil and gas industry, Uzbekneftegaz press service reported on Monday.
Uzbekneftegaz and the Chinese National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) signed a Memorandum of mutual understanding in the production of butadiene rubber and expansion of cooperation in the oil and gas sphere.
The document envisages the establishment of a butadiene producing facility in Uzbekistan to be specialized in production of butadiene rubber, which is the raw material for the manufacture of tires. The designed production capacity of the facility is 60,000 tons a year.
Uzbekneftegaz and Hyundai Industries signed an Agreement of cooperation in the field of production and use of liquid natural gas (LNG).
Under the document, three LNG plants will be built in Uzbekistan to produce liquid natural gas through its deep processing, and the logistics system for LNG sale will be developed in the country, the NHC said in a press release.
CIMC Enric Holding Ltd. and Uzbekneftegaz signed a Memorandum of mutual understanding in the field of production of equipment for gas filling stations working on LNG and CNG.
As has been reported, Citic Construction Co. Ltd., Uzbekneftegaz and Uzbek State Joint-Stock Company Uzkhimprom signed a trilateral Memorandum of understanding, under which a facility with the annual production capacity of 200,000 tons of methanol and 100,000 tons of dimethyl alcohol will be built on the basis of open joint-stock company Ferganaazot in Uzbekistan. These products will further be used for the production of alternative kinds of liquid fuel.
The agreements and memoranda were signed at the sidelines of Uzbek President Islam Karimov's official visit to China.
