BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 3. The average number of Azerbaijani users per payment terminal, including ATMs and POS-terminals, decreased in November 2022, Trend reports referring to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.
According to the bank, the number of users amounted to 3,670, down by 4.43 percent year over year.
The average ATM monthly transactions reached 894,670 manat or $526,295 (3,900 transactions), which was 22.1 percent more than in the same period of 2021.
In the reporting period, the average monthly number of an ATM transaction totaled 233.1 manat ($137.1), whereas the average monthly value of POS-terminal transactions was 9,730 manat ($5,723). Moreover, the average monthly transaction through the POS-terminal settled at 35.5 manat ($20.88).
As of December 1, 2022, as many as 2,975 ATMs were operating in Azerbaijan, out of which 1,561 were in Baku, and 1,414 ATMs were in other cities and districts of the country. Meanwhile, the number of ATMs in the country increased by 3.23 percent year over year.
Furthermore, a total of 77,133 POS-terminals operated in Azerbaijan during this period (growth of 27 percent over the year), of which 51,697 were installed in Baku, while 25,436 – in other cities and districts of Azerbaijan.
