Technologies of Azerbaijan and Turkish Turksat (Turksat Uydu Haberlesme Kablo
TV və İsletme AS) signed a memorandum on co-operation on 19 September.
The Ministry of Communication said that with signing the document, the Turkish company granted the right to use its orbital space for the realization of the Azerbaijan satellite project AzerSpace, which will lead to broadening of co-operation between two countries.
Within the memorandum, Azerbaijan and Turkey will jointly develop and implement projects and programs for the satellite
services.
Satellite will give Azerbaijan a possibility to organize qualitative TV and
radio broadcasting, improve the quality of the Internet and a number of
telecommunication services. Supposedly, the zone of coverage of satellite will be
entire Europe and large part of Asia.
