BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 4. A total of 7,471 head of large cattle were exported from Kyrgyzstan in August 2023, which is 2.8 percent more than the 7,262 head exported in July 2023, Trend reports.
The data from the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan indicates that 10,423 head of small cattle were also exported, along with 321 horses. For comparison, in July of the same year, 62,413 head of small cattle and 3,156 horses were exported.
Livestock farming is one of the leading agricultural sectors in Kyrgyzstan. In the total volume of agricultural production from January through July of this year, livestock products accounted for 62.9 percent.
Overall agricultural output in Kyrgyzstan from January through July 2023 dropped by 1.7 percent year-on-year.
In 2022, Kyrgyzstan's livestock products were exported at a value of $95.490 million, which is a 69.4 percent increase compared to the preceding year.
