Number of ATMs, POS terminals in Kyrgyzstan increases

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, November 26. Kyrgyzstan had 2,449 ATMs in operation as of September 30, 2024, Trend reports.

According to the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan, the figure rose by 13.4 percent (290 units) compared to the same period last year and by 8.4 percent (189 units) since the start of 2024.

The number of POS terminals in the country reached 32,349, which is a year-on-year increase of 68.9 percent (13,194 units). Since the beginning of 2024, the number of POS terminals has grown by 40.6 percent (9,340 units).

Meanwhile, the number of payment terminals totaled 3,152 by the end of September 2024. This represents a 16.5 percent increase (447 units) compared to the same period in 2023, with a 13.6 percent rise (377 units) since the start of the year.

Additionally, the total number of banking payment cards in circulation in Kyrgyzstan reached 8.553 million by September 30, 2024. This is a 34.8 percent increase compared to the same period last year and a 24.1 percent growth since the beginning of 2024.
