BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, April 15. Kyrgyzstan's total foreign trade volume amounted to $2.07 billion in January–February 2025, Trend reports.
According to preliminary data from the National Statistical Committee, the figure took a nosedive by 13.2 percent compared to the same period in 2024.
Exports totaled $314.4 million, down by 4.7 percent, while imports fell by 14.6 percent to $1.76 billion. Exports accounted for 15.2 percent of total trade, and imports made up 84.8 percent.
Moreover, during the reported period, mutual trade with member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) amounted to $723.6 million — a 17.3 percent increase compared to the same period in 2024. Trade with non-EAEU countries declined by 23.9 percent, totaling $1.35 billion.
For reference, Kyrgyzstan's total foreign trade reached $16 billion in 2024, showing a slight increase of 0.9 percent compared to 2023. Exports rose by 13.1 percent to $3.8 billion, while imports grew by 2.4 percent to $12 billion.
Of the total trade volume in 2024, 31.1 percent was with EAEU member states—accounting for 38.6 percent of exports and 28.8 percent of imports. Trade with non-EAEU countries made up the remaining 68.9 percent, including 61.4 percent of exports and 71.2 percent of imports.
