Turkmen industry to benefit from consortium support from German companies

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, September 18. It was proposed to create a consortium of three German companies to implement a mining complex project within the framework of strengthening cooperation with Germany, Trend reports via Turkmenistan's official media.

According to information, the proposal was put forward during discussions at the meeting of Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov with heads of German companies within the framework of the Central Asia-Germany summit in Astana.

The head of state underlined cooperation in the chemical and textile industries as one of the most promising areas in relations with Germany. In particular, within the framework of this cooperation, negotiations are underway on the development project of the Garlyk potash mining complex, which is planned to be brought to its design capacity. For the implementation of this project, it is proposed to create a consortium of three German companies: “Ercosplan, K-Utec, and Schachtbau.

Moreover, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the German company “Trützschler Group SE” and the Ministry of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan at the recently held Investment Forum of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat. The head of state noted that this document should become the basis for the development of specific parameters of cooperation in the textile industry.

To note, the second Central Asia-Germany summit in the “5+1” format was held in Astana on September 17, during which the President of Turkmenistan met with the heads of major companies and members of the German official delegation.
