TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 8. The volume of revenues through payment terminals in Uzbekistan reached 153.2 trillion soums ($12.1 billion) from January through June 2024, Trend reports.

As per data from Uzbekistan’s Central Bank, the country’s Aloqa Bank took the cake with the highest revenue volume of 24.4 trillion soums ($1.9 billion) during this period.

Uzbekistan’s Ipotekabank accounted for 11.3 trillion soums ($897.7 million) in terms of revenues through payment terminals, followed by Uzbekistan’s National Bank (9.2 trillion soums, or $730.8 million).

APEX Bank accounted for the smallest volume of revenues through payment terminals in the country, with 23 million soums ($1,827).

Meanwhile, the Central Bank's Banking Supervision Committee has revoked the licenses of Payment Aggregation Systems and Yurt Pay.

This was caused by the founders pulling the plug on the organizations.

In addition, the committee laid down the law on 11 banks for not playing by the rules of the current legislation and economic norms set by the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.
