TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 16. Uzbek banks’ revenues through payment terminals amounted to 153.2 trillion soums ($12.1 billion) from January through June 2024, Trend reports.
As per data from the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, the recorded number reflects a 35.8 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023, when the bank recorded 112.8 trillion soums ($8.9 billion) worth of transactions through POS terminals.
The country’s Aloqa Bank accounted for the highest revenue volume in the amount of 24.4 trillion soums ($1.9 billion) during this period, while APEX Bank accounted for the smallest volume of revenues through payment terminals with 23 million soums ($1,827).

Meanwhile, the banks in Uzbekistan registered revenues through payment terminals in the amount of 99.3 trillion soums ($7.8 billion) from January through April 2024. This figure shows a 40 percent increase year-on-year (70.9 trillion soums, or $5.6 billion).
