TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, March 3. Uzbekistan and Argentina agreed to develop and sign a memorandum of cooperation in the fields of food and agriculture, Trend reports.
The matter was reviewed at a meeting between a delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan with Miguel Donatelli, Director of the Department of International Cooperation at the Secretariat of Agriculture of Argentina, as well as with the leadership of SENASA, headed by Diego Kiroga.
In the course of the meeting, key issues related to knowledge and technology exchange, as well as trade and investment cooperation, were discussed. A decision was made to organize visits for Uzbek specialists, farmers, and researchers to Argentina while inviting Argentine experts to Uzbekistan for experience exchange.
In addition, the parties explored the possibility of regular training sessions, webinars, and virtual seminars through digital platforms to further enhance collaboration.
As part of their trade and investment partnership, the sides agreed to establish the export of dried fruits from Uzbekistan, specifically raisins and prunes, while facilitating the supply of high-yield fruit tree seedlings from Argentina.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan has signed a memorandum with the Iranian Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers Association (ATMAK) to advance agricultural mechanization and strengthen technological partnerships.
This agreement was part of a series of deals reached during a visit by a delegation led by the Director of the Administrative and Economic Service under Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Agriculture.
Uzbekistan also reached an agreement with Sirang UAV Company to supply modern agricultural drones and create infrastructure for their maintenance. In addition, the Administrative and Economic Service, Bazargan Kala Company, and the National Center (AKIS) signed a contract for testing and gradual localization in Uzbekistan of 40 types of fertilizers and pesticides under the Nutritech brand.
